I feel that I must profess my love for British sitcoms, better known as BRITCOMS. I don't know if it is the accent or if it is their casual usage of words like "bloke" or "wanker" but man, I find them hilarious. I began watching Season 1 of this show called Coupling. Its quite hard to describe it in terms of comparing, but you may liken it to a British version of Friends. They actually came out with a U.S version of Coupling about 6 years ago but it didn't fly.
Anyways, each episode involves these 6 friends as recurring characters. No matter what happens, they all seem to be somehow connected to any jam that one of them may get into.
Each episode normally focuses on the same them: men, women and the sexual tensions and escapades between them. It relies on the fact that men don't understand women and women don't understand man. The producers and writers were genius in the fact that this makes for hilarious television. I'm not talking about genius in the sense that "wow, they came up with this amazing idea for this t.v show". Sitcoms have revolved around this theme for years. These guys just happened to finally get it right.
What else is new? After hours of hauling wood and getting eaten alive by "skitters", I didn't make it up the mountain on Thursday. I have a wedding to go to tomorrow, Sunday will likely be a gym/relaxation day and planning on doing some golfing on Monday. I'm looking at also lining up some fishing for next week so hopefully that will happen. All in all, its been a fabulous summer so far but as usual, its going by way too fast!
I'll write again on Sunday.
